About Us

Welcome to Portable Long Service Leave for the Community Services sector in South Australia

Portable Long Service Leave was first created to administer the Construction Industry Fund, which collects employer levies to provide Portable Long Service Leave for construction workers across South Australia. Over time, the scheme has expanded to include the Community Services Sector Fund, which began on 1 October 2025. This extension ensures that workers in the community services sector can also build and access their long service leave benefits, even if they change employers within the sector.

Portable Long Service Leave - Community Services is a not-for-profit statutory organisation, responsible for administering the Portable Long Service Leave Act 2024. This bi-partisan initiative, introduced by the South Australian Government, allows workers to accrue long service leave for their work across the sector as a whole, rather than with just one employer.

Each financial year, we provide the responsible Minister with an annual report on our operations, including our audited financial statements. As an independent agency operating under the Public Interest Disclosure Act 2018, we maintain strong standards of privacy, confidentiality and record keeping.

If you have concerns that relate directly to the Portable Long Service Leave Act 2024, please contact the Minister for Industrial Relations and Public Sector.

Our goal is to provide excellent service to South Australian workers and employers, helping workers understand their entitlements and encouraging them to take their well-earned long service leave when they're eligible.
