Are you a Working Director of a company in the Community Services sector? You will be able to make provisions for long service leave through the Working Director scheme.
If you are the Working Director of a company and working in the community services sector (as defined in the Portable Long Service Leave Act 2024) in South Australia, you will be able to accrue long service by making voluntary contributions.
How does the Working Director scheme work?
Returns will be issued periodically in your Employer Portal. If you would like to make a contribution for that period you will need to login to the Employer Portal to lodge the return. An invoice for payment will be issued upon lodgement of your return.
For each invoice you pay, we credit you with service corresponding to that return period. If you pay all of the invoices issued each year, you will be credited with 12 Months of service.
Payment of each invoice is completely voluntary, however naturally if you choose not to make payment you will not be credited with any service for that period.
Upon request, invoices can be paid in advance until the end of the financial year.

When should I register?
Registration is currently scheduled to be available from 1 July 2025.
How do I register?
You will be able to log into the Worker Portal to complete a request to Register as a Working Director, or your employer will be able to register you through their Employer Portal. If your company is not registered, you will also need to fill in an employer registration form online.
Please note: upon registration, you'll need to provide evidence of your appointment as a director.
If you haven't been registered as a worker before, you'll need to complete the Worker Registration application form in our online portal first.
