PLEASE NOTE: Portable long service leave for the community services sector is intended to commence from 1 July 2025.

About Us

Welcome to SA Portable Long Service Leave, South Australia.

SA Portable Long Service Leave was initially created to administer the Construction Industry Fund, which controls levies collected from employers to provide portable long service leave for employees in the construction industry. Since then, the scheme has expanded to administer the Community Services Sector Fund to include workers in the community services sector from 2025.

SA Portable Long Service Leave - Community Services is a not for profit, statutory organisation, responsible for the administration of the Portable Long Service Leave Act 2024 (the Act). The Act is a bi-partisan initiative that was put in place by the South Australian Government, and provides for the accrual of long service leave entitlements for workers in the South Australian community services sector overall, rather than to any particular employer.

Each financial year we are required to provide the responsible Minister with an annual report on our operation during that year, including our audited financial statements. As a body under the PID Act, we are an independent agency and held to a standard or record keeping, privacy and confidentiality.

If you have any concerns relating directly to the Act, you can contact the Minister for Industrial Relations and Public Sector. Our aim is to provide the best customer service in assisting workers and employers, and to encourage workers throughout the sector to be able to accrue and take their long service leave sooner.
