Self-employed in the Community Services sector? You will be able to make provisions for long service leave through the Self-Employed Contractor scheme.
If you are a Self-Employed Contractor and working in the community services sector (as defined in the Portable Long Service Leave Act 2024) in South Australia, you can accrue long service leave by making voluntary contributions.
How does the Self-Employed Contractor Scheme work?
Returns will be issued periodically in your Worker Portal. If you would like to make a contribution for that period, you will need to login to the Worker Portal to lodge the return. An invoice for payment of the contribution will be issued upon lodgement of your return.
For each invoice you pay, we credit you with service corresponding to that return period. If you pay all of the invoices issued each year, you will be credited with 12 Months of service.
Payment of each invoice is completely voluntary, however naturally if you choose not to make payment you will not be credited with any service for that period.
Upon request, invoices can be paid in advance until the end of each financial year period.
What are the current contribution and interest rates?
The contribution rate has not currently been set.
The interest rate is not currently set.
When should I register?
